A quick five-point phone test that reveals whether your website is helping your business grow or quietly turning customers away.

Right now, pull up your website on your phone. Don't think about it, don't make excuses for it, just open it the way a stranger would and look at it with fresh eyes.
Does it load fast? Is the text easy to read without zooming in? Can you find your business hours, your location, and a way to contact you in under ten seconds?
If you hesitated on any of those, or had to scroll around searching, you've just found a problem. And it's likely costing you customers every single day.
Why This Matters More Than You Think
Here's the reality: most of your customers are finding you on their phone first, not their laptop or desktop. They're searching for something they need right now, and your website is often the very first impression they get of your business, before they ever speak to you, walk through your door, or place an order.
If that website is slow to load or confusing to navigate, they don't wait around or give you the benefit of the doubt. They simply leave and go to a competitor instead. Most of the time, they won't even realize that's what just happened. They'll just remember that your site was frustrating and that the next business they found was easier to deal with.
The good news is that your website doesn't need to be fancy, trendy, or expensive to fix this. It needs three things: it needs to be fast, it needs to be clear, and it needs to be functional.
It needs to answer the questions a new customer would naturally have before they ever decide to reach out or walk through your door. And it needs to make the next step embarrassingly easy to find and take, whether that step is calling you, booking an appointment, making a purchase, or simply finding your location on a map.
Do This Five-Point Audit Right Now
Grab your phone and pull up your website. Go through these five things, one at a time, and pay close attention to anywhere you hesitate, scroll, or have to dig around to find something.
Load speed. Does the site open quickly, or do you find yourself waiting and wondering if it's even working?
Mobile readability. Is the text easy to read on a small screen without zooming in or squinting?
Contact information visibility. Can you find your phone number, address, or a way to reach you without searching for it?
A clear description of what you do. Would a stranger landing on your homepage immediately understand what your business offers?
An obvious call to action. Is there something on your homepage that clearly tells a visitor what to do next, like call now, book here, or shop now?
Write down every single place where you paused, scrolled, or struggled to find what you were looking for. Each one of those moments represents a real customer you are potentially losing right now, without even knowing it.
Don't Wait. Fix the Top Issues This Week.
Once you've identified the weak points, pick the top two or three issues and commit to fixing them this week, not someday, not when things slow down, not next quarter. The longer a confusing or slow website stays live, the more potential customers it quietly turns away.
